Join Goethe Pop Up Seattle & Seattle Symphony from 6/22-26 for the Digital Beethoven Fest, a celebration to commemorate Beethoven’s 250th birthday — featuring hosted panel discussions with Seattle Symphony's Raff Wilson.

Mon. 6/22, 2:00pm: Seattle Symphony’s Music Director Thomas Dausgaard opens the fest with an introduction. Native American musician, storyteller, & activist Paul Chiyokten Wagner discusses culture, place & shared humanist values at the core of Beethoven & local Native American narratives.

Wed. 6/24, 2:00pm: Composer Angelique Poteat & Seattle Symphony Community Youth Chorus Director Megan McCormick share a discussion on Dear Humanity, the musical collaboration Poteat & the CYC. Christine Siegert, Beethoven scholar at the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, Germany, will share her expertise.

Fri. 6/26, 2:00pm: Composer Charles Corey & Principal Oboe Mary Lynch discuss Together, This Journey, the composition written by Corey with Northwest Center & Best Buddies. Lynch shares her personal experience with Best Buddies. Corey & Lynch explore how Beethoven challenged the traditional role of the composer & how the piece challenges the idea of who gets to be a composer today.​
