Listening Session with Lamin Fofana and Serubiri Moses
Join us for a listening session of three new electronic tracks by Lamin Fofana as featured in his New York debut exhibition BLUES at Mishkin Gallery (Baruch, CUNY). Fofana will be in conversation with writer and curator Serubiri Moses and the session will be moderated by BLUES curator and Mishkin Gallery director Alaina Claire Feldman.
Fofana’s music is a conduit for engaging with an array of issues involving blackness, migration, displacement, and race through collective listening. The artist creates spaces for contemporary black life in the West that are informed by his interest in history and the sonic and “allow for dreaming and imagining other ways of being” which foreground non-linear thinking and experience.
