Reading & Workshop with Kid's Author Antje Damm

Read a little, create a lot with Goethe Pop Up Seattle and children’s book author Antje Damm live from her studio in Germany! We invite kids to join her for a reading of her book The Visitor, which will be followed by an arts and crafts workshop.

The Visitor is a story about friendship and shyness that plays out in a mini theatre, as a child unwittingly brings light and color―literally―into a lonely person's life. To illustrate her books, Antje Damm dioramas from cardboard and photographs the scenes.

Use her techniques and let your imagination run wild to make your own pocket pet! After the reading, Antje Damm will teach kids how to create a secret “pocket pet”: make sure you have a matchbox, scissors, glue, construction paper, and coloring utensils (crayons, markers, or colored pencils).

For kids aged 6-10. The online event is limited to 20 Zoom participants, so we kindly ask parents to register by email at info-seattle@goethe.de. Online reading and workshop will be held in German.
