Death concerns every human being. The ancient Egyptian traditions and the contemporary modern society have one thing in common: avoiding disappearance and with that aiming towards immortality.
We question ancient Egyptian rituals and social media to get to the core of our present societies in the format of a cooking show.
For Death spells, Mena El Shazly and ongoing project develop an experimental cross-media performance on death inspired by popular TV cooking and talk shows. As guests they invite experts on death to engage in a talk, while preparing a meal for the audience.
