The first edition of the philosophy festival Filo-Lisbon will take place on November 14th and 15th online. The theme of this edition is „Pandemic Crisis: Who am I in this new world?“
The Covid-19 has a big impact on our lives, changing our habits, upsetting our relationship with the world, time and space. In this context, philosophical reflection and the debate of ideas are vital tools for each of us to participate in the challenges of tomorrow.
The Filo-Lisboa festival brings together 16 great thinkers from Portugal, France and Germany and invites them to reflect on this theme. Among the guests are the German philosopher and former State Secretary for Culture Julian Nida-Rümelin, the German philosopher Rahel Jaeggi and the French philosopher Etienne Balibar. The opening speech will be made by the Portuguese sociologist Boaventura de Sousa Santos. The dialogues will be transmitted live with simultaneous translation into Portuguese, French, German and Portuguese Sign Language.
