IME celebrates World Music Day with Julius Gabriel

This World Music Day we partner with bangaloREsidency host Indian Music Experience in inviting German saxophonist Julius Gabriel to participate in an online celebration.

Indian Music Exerience is bringing together musicans from around the world! Other artists include Kahoru Nakamura and Hitomi Nakamura playing ancient traditional court music from Japan. We invite you to join us for this one-of-a-kind experience, a musical journey around the world from the comfort of your home!

Each musician will feature for 20 minutes, including a conversation between the musician and IME’s director/musician Manasi Prasad, followed by a performance clip. The evening will culminate in an impromptu musical conversation between all the musicians.

Julius Gabriel is a German saxophone player whose range of interests encompass various forms of music, such as jazz, rock, avant-garde and experimental music. He has performed with orchestras such as The Dorf and the London Jazz Composers Orchestra, and is a member of the Blue Shroud Band under the direction of Barry Guy. As a solo musician, he composes music for saxophone and plays free improvisation and spontaneous music.
