About the film:
Germany | German w/ English subtitles | 2018 | 102 min.
Toni is in her late twenties & in the midst of an identity crisis. After she receives an inheritance, she returns to the village she once fled. As an intern in the local section of the regional newspaper, she feels undervalued, & at home her interfering parents barely give her room to breathe. She meets the fun-loving Rosa who helps her see her old stamping ground anew. But the more Rosa becomes attracted to Toni, the more explosive the relationship becomes. The film delineates the search for identity of two women in a village that is increasingly being confronted by a more complex world.
This film series is part of Queer as German Folk, a project celebrating the intersectional histories of Germany’s and America’s diverse LGBTIQ+ communities.
