Shaping the Past: Unconference - Memory and conmemoration.
Our digital "Unconference", it is an open space for debating, exchanging ideas and learning - open to all who are interested in the topic of remembrance and commemoration of social struggles in public space and who want to participate in the conversation.
After a welcome and short introduction to the topic, participants will have the opportunity to choose a specific approach they would like to talk or learn about:
- Remembrance and commemoration in the context of the social struggle against violence against women
- Remembrance and commemoration in the social struggle against the disappearance of thousands of people
- Remembrance and commemoration within the framework of the social struggle for land and territorial defense
The individual approaches are discussed in small groups so that all participants have the opportunity to participate.
Shaping the Past is a partnership of the Goethe-Institut, Monument Lab, and the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (Federal Agency for Civic Education). The project connects to the activist and artistic work of local, national, and transnational movements as a reflection of memory culture and discusses new perspectives on forms of memory.
