WONDERLAND AVE.-EXPERIÊNCIA DE CRIAÇÃO CÊNICA emCONFINAMENTO
The Transit project, a coproduction by Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre and Sistema Fecomércio-RS/Sesc establishes exchanges between continents, aesthetics, languages and interpretations, in addition to collaborating in the expansion and qualification of the area of theater critics in Porto Alegre. For this year's edition, two productions for the text Wonderland Ave. by the German author Sibylle Berg, were selected. With presentations originally scheduled for the Festival Palco Giratório in May and then in regular seasons at the Goethe-Institut the plays had to be adapted to the virtual environment after the restrictions caused by Covid-19.
An experience born from the friction between theater, social and audiovisual confinement, mixing the text of Sibylle Berg's work with the crudeness of each one's personal experience of confinement. For the adaptation of the project by director Leandro Silva, the team dispenses elaborate scenery and costumes and abuses resources such as phone calls, mockups, miniatures, videoconference and video records in the artists' homes.
