Cisnes Huecos sin Fronteras (Hollow Swans without Borders)

In the German town of Hennigsdorf, on the banks of the Havel River near Berlin, sits a watching tower. The river was part of the heavily guarded border between the two Germany's during the Cold War. At this place, where the river gets narrower, many east Germans tried (and some succeeded) to escape, crossing the river under big swan dummies. This episode was the inspiration of Cuban Artist Luis Enrique Silvestre, in this "Cisnes Huecos" (Hollow Swans) series. It's a portrait of humankind's journey to overcome man-made barriers, in search of peace, freedom, and better-leaving conditions - as Cuban people have been doing since the Revolution.
