I Saw Nothing For Days
'I Saw Nothing For Days' is a series of recorded Performance Art pieces confronting its audience with the emotionality of humans, our place in this world and how art might aid in processes of healing. These home-recorded performances aim to show my practice of performative processing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past few weeks, it has become clear that our species are going to have to reevaluate the society we have created so that more people might be safe and supported. I believe art is an invaluable tool in this process of reevaluating and reimagining.
I hope to do at least four Performance Art pieces in the next two months, starting during the South African lockdown period and continuing during the inevitable social distancing afterward. The Performance Pieces will be released on my YouTube channel as well as on my website and Social Media accounts. Each performance will end with a call to other creatives to reflect on and respond to a specific question, thereby making this project collaborative in nature and connecting more artists to imagine our future together.
A rewards-based crowdfunding initiative has been set up to support this project.
