As part of a residency with ten dancers from Salvador selected in public audition, Augusto Soledade revived works from his choreographic repertoire, as well as created an original work for the cast. The goal was to provide the dancers with an experience in the dance language that Soledade has been developing throughout his career, and which he calls Afro-Fusion: an approach that blends various styles, from Afro-Baian to classical, as well as contemporary/modern and street dance.
Since 2016, the Vila Sul Artist Residency Program of the Goethe-Institut Salvador-Bahia has welcomed artists and cultural agents from various areas, languages and backgrounds with the proposal of strengthening dialogue between Brazil and other countries in the southern hemisphere. In "Mostra Perspectivas Vila Sul", will be exhibited, at www.goethe.de/perspectivasvilasul, various works of 22 of these international residents who have experienced seasons in the capital of Bahia.
