O TEATRO DO OPRIMIDO ENTRE ÁFRICA E AMÉRICA LATINA

Part of the 2018 World Social Forum programme, this debate brings together theatre director Diol Mamadou, artistic director of Kàddu Yaraax Theatre and creator of the Senegalese Forum Theatre Festival; the Movimento Sem Teto da Bahia (MSTB); the Movimiento Popular La Dignidad (Argentina); and Julián Boal, a practitioner of Theatre of the Oppressed founded by his father, the Brazilian theatricalist Augusto Boal, one of the great figures in contemporary international theatre.

Since 2016, the Vila Sul Artist Residency Program of the Goethe-Institut Salvador-Bahia has welcomed artists and cultural agents from various areas, languages and backgrounds with the proposal of strengthening dialogue between Brazil and other countries in the southern hemisphere. In "Mostra Perspectivas Vila Sul", will be exhibited, at www.goethe.de/perspectivasvilasul, various works of 22 of these international residents who have experienced seasons in the capital of Bahia.
